Housing disrepair claims
Beware of "no win, no fee" companies
Some of our tenants have been approached by companies offering to make compensation claims against us for housing disrepair. They do this on a "no win, no fee" basis. While this may sound appealing, there can be hidden costs which could put you at serious financial risk. Legal cases can also be time consuming.
The best way to get your home repaired quickly and safely is to contact us first.
What to look out for
Some of these companies may:
- Claim to work on our behalf - this is not true
- Send leaflets, call you, advertise on social media or knock on your door to convince you to sign up
- Encourage you to sign contracts withough explaining hidden costs
- Deduct large amounts from any compensation you might win.
Staying safe
If someone knocks on your door claiming to work for us, ask to see their identification before letting them in. Our staff always carry ID cards.
