We're working with St Albans City and District Council, Three Rivers District Council and Watford Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council, to prepare a Joint Strategic Plan (JSP) for the South West Hertfordshire area (see map below).

The JSP is a long-term framework guiding the development of South West Hertfordshire up to 2050. It will:

  • Address challenges that cross council boundaries.
  • Shape a strategic vision for the area.
  • Set high-level policies on key issues such as climate change, housing, employment, infrastructure, and environmental protection.

This collaborative approach will help the councils better deliver and fund essential services such as transport, health care, and education to meet the needs of local communities.

Each council will continue to develop its own Local Plan.
