Special parking permits
If you don’t qualify for a standard resident permit, there are certain circumstances where you may be eligible for a special parking permit.
For example, if you need regular visits from a family carer due to health reasons. We may be able to issue a permit for your carer to use when they visit.
What you need to apply
You’ll need to provide evidence showing why you need regular visits from a carer. A letter from your doctor may be enough.
Cost
A special permit counts as one of the three resident permits you’re allowed and costs the same:
- First permit: £40
- Second permit: £60
- Third permit: £80
Apply for a special parking permit
You'll need to write to us explaining why you need a special parking permit. Try to include as much information as possible.
Include your medical evidence (such as GP letter) and proof of residence.

- Email: parking@dacorum.gov.uk. You can send electronic copies of documents. Either scan the documents of take a photo of them with a smartphone. We accept PDFs or JPGs. If you require help, please get in touch.
