Doctor/health visitor parking permits

Medical staff who regularly need to visit patients in Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs) can apply for a Doctor/Health Visitor (DHV) parking permit.

Where you can park with a DHV

  • Permitted: Resident permit holder-only or shared-use bays during essential home visits. 
  • Not permitted: Pay-and-park bays without paying or on yellow lines. They are also not valid when parked outside your normal place of work.

Cost

The cost of a DHV permit is £40 per year.

Apply for a DHV

  1. Write your request for a permit/permits on surgery or care company letterheaded paper
  2. Send it to:

A limited number of DHV permits are available. We may ask for further information once we receive your application.

What happens after you apply

If your application is successful, you will need to create and manage an account on our online system. 

There’s no need to display anything in your vehicle.

Please note: DHV permits may be withdrawn if there is evidence of misuse.
