Resident parking permits
If you live in a Controlled Parking Zone you will need to:
- Create an account on the permit system;
- Apply for a resident permit or visitor parking sessions.
What you'll need
- Proof that you live in the zone
- Proof that your vehicle qualifies for a permit.
How it works
- After submitting your application and documents, you’ll need to pay online using a debit or credit card
- No physical permits or visitor scratch cards will be sent - you don’t need to display anything in your vehicle.

Parking permits
If you live in a Controlled Parking Zone area and your address qualifies, you can:
- buy one permit per person, and
- up to three permits per property for vehicles registered to that address.
Vehicle types
To qualify, your vehicle must:
- Be no more than five metres long and two metres high.
- Not be a caravan or trailer. These do not qualify.
Note: Caravans or trailers can only be parked in a Controlled Parking Zone while loading or unloading. They must be attached to a vehicle with a valid permit.
Permit prices (per year)
- First car: £40
- Second car: £60
- Third car: £80
- Motorcycle: £20
- Disabled person's vehicle: Free
How to apply or renew
If you need a resident permit or visitor parking sessions, apply online:
If you are renewing, log in and click the renew button next to your existing permit.
Once we've received your application and payment, the permit will be active from the start date you've chosen.
No paper permit is needed.
Current paper permits are valid and should be displayed until the expiry date shown on the permit.

We have a duty to protect the public funds we administer, and may use the information that you have provided on this form to prevent and detect fraud. We may also share this information with other bodies responsible for auditing or administering public funds for these purposes.
