Parking dispensations

If you're having building work done and your tradesperson needs to park nearby or place a skip in an area with waiting restrictions, you'll need a parking dispensation.

This is a temporary permit that lets a vehicle park in a location during the restricted times.

Terms and conditions

  • You must provide proof/documents showing the work to be done. Each application is reviewed on a case-by-case basis, considering local conditions and available space
  • Waivers are only given in extraordinary circumstances, where it is essential for the vehicle to be next to the property or site. For example, installing large glass panels or when using a mobile generator. Using a vehicle as a mobile workshop does not qualify
  • Tradespeople working in Controlled Parking Zones should first try to use a resident’s visitor parking session before applying for a waiver. This allows parking in resident permit or shared-use bays
  • You must agree on the exact parking location with our Parking Services team in advance
  • If we approve your dispensation for a restricted bay, it does not guarantee a parking space (unlike a suspension)
  • To extend a dispensation, you must submit a new application - it won’t be automatically renewed
  • You must pay after receiving approval and before the agreed start date
  • Dispensations are non-refundable
  • Vehicles must not block dropped kerbs or obstruct traffic
  • Pedestrian access on pavements or footpaths must be kept clear and safe
  • Misuse or complaints may result in the dispensation being cancelled
  • We require at least five working days' notice to process your application.
